Lil' John Buttera to Build Limited Series of Cars
Bonneville Sports Catalog to be Exclusive Distributor of Lil' John's Billet Racers
Anaheim, CA-February 25, 2000 - Bonneville Sports announced today that they will be the exclusive distributor of an extremely limited edition series of machined billet aluminum racers. The meticulously machined models have been designed and hand finished by the magician of machine work, Lil' John Buttera at his machine works laboratory known as "Lil' John's Place".
"I didn't want to cut corners just to lower the price and making these cars in mass was not something that interested me. My goal is to manufacture a billet car that looked great and where price was no object. By making only fifty of each one makes these cars really special!", said Lil' John. Buttera's ambition has always been to manufacture the finest quality products and to lead with innovation. "Not everyone can own a Buttera built vehicle and that is much of what makes his racecars, hot rods and Harleys so special. They are hand built works of art.", said Fanshaw, President of Bonneville Sports.
Each of the solid billet aluminum race cars have been designed by Buttera. Starting from a piece of 7071 aluminum, the car is painstakingly machined for hour after hour to remove small amounts of metal. The wheels are machined separately, then sent to be anodized black. When returned, they are again machined for a realistic tire and wheel look. The steering wheel is cut by wire EDM for maximum detail. The finished car is highly detailed and the rolling contours of the body speak volumes for Buttera's craftsmanship. The first fifty (50) cars, series #1 will be Midget Racers, the Series #2 will be a Bellytanker and #3 a Miller Car. After that ?
