From
across the counter of the Bonneville Sports booth we were able to meet many
our our regular customers face-to-face for the first time. Rodders from across
the country and around the world were on hand for this the 50th edition of
the Grand National Roadster Show.
It
was great to make so many new friends and get up to date with all of the
old ones.
The show opened on Wednesday and new Bonneville Worldwide business partner,
and Van Halen rocker, Michael Anthony was on hand at the booth to meet, greet,
and sign
T-shirts. What a great way to kick off a great show. I think Mike left full
of ideas for a new rod.
The new
Tony Nancy 22 Jr T-shirt made its premier at the show and all of the retro-rodders
were in heaven. A word to the wise, Tonys 22 Jr cars are currently
on display at the NHRA museum. Check them out. And if you didnt get
one at the show, order a T today 22 Jr is our newest and it is hot.
Ok, Ok,
I dont mean to drop names, but when Eric Clapton (Slow-hand himself),
is standing right in front of our booth snapping pics of customs you know
something special is going on. This years show was especially star
studded. It got started early with Tim (Tim, the tool man, Taylor) Allen
on hand to unveil and fire up his new Track-T during opening ceremonies.
Roadster Show regular, Jimmy Vaughn was on hand all week to show is new 61
custom Caddy. POSIE hisself was at the booth on the weekend signing T-shirts
and collecting congrats for his new art deco Extremeliner. This is a car
that must be seen in person to be fully appreciated. The more you look, the
more you like.
Monday
evening finally came and Fred Warrens shocking Shock Wave
became the Most Beautiful Roadster of the 50th Grand National. Fred made
his way through the crowd and on to the stage to receive trophy, congratulations
and a custom one-of-a-kind Bonneville 12.4.8 watch from Bonneville president
Brad Fanshaw.
