Hell Freezes Over At SEMA 2007
Someone asked bonspeed boy- Brad Fanshaw if hell was freezing over last week at the giant 2007 SEMA show in Las vegas. Fanshaw and his former business partner, Boyd Coddington made the announcement, that eleven years after the hot rod legends parted ways they will again work together as a team.
The team of Coddington and Fanshaw are the guys behind the hot rodding phenomenon of the 1990’s. Together they created Boyds Wheels and the now legendary Hot Rods by Boyd fabricated CadZZilla, CheZoom, Aluma Coupe, Smoothster and many other iconic rods. Working for them was a team of talent including Jesse James and
Chip Foose.

Boyd Coddington and Brad Fanshaw are interviewed by Car Crazy’s correspondent Ken Gross.
Michael Anthony Celebrates Hagar’s 6.0 in Cabo
It was two days of Cabo drinkin’ madness. Sammy Hagar, bonspeed boy- Michael Anthony, an entourage of celebs and fans, fans and more fans jammed the Cabo Wabo Cantina. It was a very special birthday bash as they celebrated Sammy’s 6.0! I still cannot believe that guy is 60..whew!

Michael Anthony jammin’ on-stage with Vic, Ted Nugent and Chad Smith. This was just one of the star-studded get togethers.

Michael with the Mind Freak Criss Angel.

Backstage with Toby Keith it was the who’s who for Sammy’s 60th.

The guys from Collective Soul with Anthony, now we just need to set everybody up with some bonspeed wheels!
Everyone is in Monterey
Every August the bonspeed boys roll into Monterey for the RM Auction, the historic races, Quail Lodge and all of the other parties and get togethers. It is always one great weekend that provides plenty of stories.

Story of this year is that the photo is actually from last years Monterey event, but we just found the photos.
bonspeed boy- Brad Fanshaw was a guest of his friends at Bombardier Jets for the Wednesday night party at the Monterey airport. We had just flown in and the prettiest racer in the world was at the executive terminal. Brad had a great time talking Indy cars with the one and only
Danica Patrick.
Petersen Afterglow
Every concert has a backstage afterglow and the Petersen event was no different. The party continued as the bonspeed boys brought a few friends for the late night antics.

The bonspeed boys know how to party and the backstage action continued till dawn. (L to R): Kori Walters, Jennifer Lies, Brad Fanshaw, Andy Harrison, Michael Anthony, Aussie Mick, Mark Cilani and Derek Lies.

bonspeed boy- Mark Cilani grabbed the big prize by bidding on Michael Anthony’s flamed bass which was played on his last tour with Van Halen. A rare rock-n-roll prize for sure, it took $13,000+ to win the auction and all the cash went to benefit the Petersen Museum!

Mark and Kori hanging out during rehearsal, the stage was filled with rockers who all love cars....nothing better!
Petersen Automotive Museum- Charity Concert
bonspeedMedia was instrumental in organizing and planning this charity concert that included such legendary rock musicians as Jeff Beck, Michael Anthony (Van Halen), Billy F. Gibbons (ZZ Top) and Jimmy Vaughan. The concert part of the Petersen Museum’s week long salute to the Ford 1932 Deuce, was a spectacular success!
bonspeed used their contacts in the music industry to assist in arranging the talented rockers that participated. Each is a legendary musician, but also a hot rod enthusiast making it a natural for this event. The charity benefitting the museum raised over $86,000 and provided the audience of less than 1500 an intimate concert event, not soon forgotten.

Burbank Rehearsal of Rock Legends
This was one of those days you remember forever. It was a rainy Wednesday afternoon and we all met at the Burbank rehearsal studio. This was rock history, but it was all car guys who attended.
Brad Fanshaw, Bruce Meyer, Bruce Canepa, Roy Brizio made up the audience. The car guys holding the guitars included Michael Anthony, Jeff Beck, Jimmy Vaughan and Billy F. Gibbons. Between them they talked hot rods as much as they did music.

Legends of rock and souls of car lovers; left to right: Michael, Jimmy, Jeff and Billy
These guys are car show regulars that happen to be music stars.

Billy and Michael lay down some blues-inspired sounds with the help of Jimmy Vaughan’s band.

Bruce jumped in with the band, but he deserves it since the Petersen event would not have happened without him!
Jeff Beck is a legend among fans and musicians. Beck is also about as hard core a car guy as you find.
Petersen Museum Vault
You might have heard of the Petersen Automotive Museum, you may have even visited this incredible mecca of car delights. Did you know that below the concrete of the building is thousands of square feet of cars, goodies, memorabilia, motors and more!
The bonspeed boys are always looking for great things to do and when we were given a chance to wander the Petersen Museum Vault we didn’t hesitate.
The bonspeed boys Brad and Michael mugging for yet another photo. But look at the incredible cars around them...wow!

Walking around the expansive storage facility something very special grabbed my eye. Sitting along the wall was the very Lil’ John Buttera motorcycle that I had constructed for myself while President of Hot Rods by Boyd. It is a long story how it ended up here and not at the bonspeed shop.
In the Vault are all kinds of cool retro 1970’s era show cars. Michael liked this lime green rod, but the Boot Hill Express was pretty neat too!

Michael is an easy-going guy, but he had a mean stare-down with this steer.
The Boys visit Bruce Meyer's Collection
Bruce Meyer the Beverly Hills hot rod collector who owns the So. Cal bellytanker, Doane Spencer car and many other note worthy automobiles, called the other day. I have known Bruce for years and he is a buddy of the bonspeed boys, we see him at all kinds of automotive events, not just hot rod shows. He is first and foremost a car guy!
Bruce invited us over for some lunch and a chance to see some of his great cars up close and personal.

Michael and Brad just hangin’ out in the Meyer garage. Behind us Is a true competition 427 Shelby and a competition Shelby GT350.

In the back of Bruce’s garage is the impressive hardware and it is incredible. These cars have history like the SWB Ferrari #12 that won Le Mans or the Mercedes once owned by Clark Gable.
Harley’s and Hot Rods are also present at this speed and chrome haven. Michael is doing his very best Brando.
Com’on guys move so we can see that Cobra and the great memorabilia Bruce has collected. After we saw the cars at Bruce’s garage we went to lunch and talked cars for a couple of hours. Just another day for the bonspeed boys!\
Roadster Show - 75th Anniversary Celebration
We are so happy that they moved the Grand National Roadster Show to Pomona, California. The event was a must attend when it was in the Bay area, but now it is just a short drive from the bonspeed design studio!
On Saturday afternoon the bonspeed boys attended the show and we were in awe of the 1932 Ford Deuce display. An entire building at the Pomona Fairgrounds was filled with 75 of the most influential 1932’s of all time. Our hats are off to Greg Sharp the NHRA museum curator and Ford Motor Co, who made this happen.
A massive 1932 grill shell banner was placed at the entrance to what is the best assembly of hot rod ‘32’s ever assembled!
This display was incredible and featured one of the original 1932 Ford prototypes.
SEMA Show 2006

Brad Fanshaw, bonspeed President and Edsel Ford were at SEMA in November where all of the greatest cars a shown. Like this 1932 Ford Roadster owned by Edsel, the car was built by Dearborn Deuce and features bonspeed "V8" style wheels and BF Goodrich tires. This very car has been donated to charity by Edsel and it will be auctioned at Barrett-Jackson in January of 2007!
Holiday Autograph Signing

Michael Anthony, bonspeed Co-Owner brought out the Van Halen fans one night in early December.
The fans of Michael's music stood in line for autographed bottles of his Mad Anthony Hot Sauce.
Michael and Brad stand in front of Michael's hot rod flame bass. Michael signed hundreds of autographs while Brad was happy to have a few drinks. The event was held at Village Goldsmith, a bonspeed/Bonneville Watch dealer in Glendora, California
